# Settings and safety

Use Settings to choose how Syntheo works, what it may access, and which optional features are available to agents.

## A safe starting point

1. Configure Standard with a provider and model.
2. Keep write, command, network, Git, and unfamiliar connected tools on **Ask**.
3. Add only Skills and tools you understand and need.
4. Keep global Behaviour instructions short and broadly applicable.
5. Revisit settings after a few real tasks instead of enabling everything at once.
